A Letter from Dudley, NC

Mar. 11, 1964

Honorable Samuel Ervin,

My wife and I are writing you to ask that you please vote against the Civil Right Act of 1963. We love our country as we know you do and enjoy our freedoms that we now have.

We believe that about 10% of this act is civil right and about 90% a further extension of socialistic Federal Controls. It seems to be a part of the pattern for the communist takeover in America.

We are trusting that you will be led to vote against this Civil Right Act. Thank You.
